Pickleball
Pickleball is America's fastest-growing sport and it is gaining popularity in Europe as more people become aware of it and facilities are available to accommodate pickleball. Pickleball is relatively new in Ireland but it is spreading very quickly across all age categories and abilities.
Pickleball is an easy sport to learn and play: plastic wiffle-like balls are less bouncy, paddles are light and easy to handle, and the technique is much simpler than in tennis. Glasnevin Lawn Tennis Club offers an indoor facility for pickleball players, after converting the pre-existing badminton court in the hall. The court is available to all members and the booking is through the online system. It’s available to play from Friday to Sunday and during school holidays. There is also ongoing coaching provided by the multi-racquets coach Debbie Brown.
For more information about pickleball opportunities within the club please contact Paola Baldelli, our ladies club captain (085 274 4683).
